Sue Hansen-Styles er autodidakt skuespiller og kunstnerisk leder i Why Not Theatre Company. Hun har medvirket i en lang række teaterforestillinger, bl.a. spillede hun Lady MacBeth i ‘MacBeth‘, Joy i ‘Shadowlands‘, Helen i ‘The Road to Mecca‘ og Stevie i ‘The Goat or Who is Sylvia‘.

Sue kom i 2001 til Danmark sammen med sin danske ægtefælle efter en 20-årig karriere som HR-leder i adskillige firmaer i London, Luxembourg og Bruxelles. Gennem 2 år arbejdede hun hos DR i et job som journalist/newsreader indtil afdelingen blev lukket. Gennem sit eget firma World of Words leverer hun speaks på engelsk til forskellige virksomheder i Danmark og over hele verden. Hun har bl.a. arbejdet som speaker for Novo Nordisk, Novozymes, Coloplast, Danske Bank, Danfoss, Coca Cola, Smirnoff, Nike, Sterling, IBM og FN.

 

Sue came to Denmark in 2001 with her Danish husband. She worked for two years at Danmarks Radio as a journalist and news reader on the daily News In English programme.

Sue co-founded Why Not Theatre Company (WNTC) in 2007 with Nathalie Johnston, who has since moved back to the UK. Sue is now Artistic Director of WNTC.

A self-taught actress, Sue has performed on a number of European stages including the Tower and Questors Theatres in London, the ECC in Brussels, That Theatre Company and CTC in Copenhagen and the ITM in Malmö.

Her roles have been many and varied, including Lady Macbeth in Macbeth, Joy in Shadowlands, Helen in The Road to Mecca, Stevie in The Goat or Who is Sylvia, Ines in Life x 3, Virginia (Woolf) in Vita & Virginia by Dame Eileen Atkins at CaféTeatret in 2011, Emilia in Desdemona, a play about a handkerchief at Bådteatret in April 2012, Anna in Old Times by Harold Pinter – a collaboration by Why Not Theatre Company and That Theatre Company – at Krudttønden in autumn 2012 and Clair in The City by Martin Crimp at Bådteatret in 2013. She also appeared in WNTC’s production of Digging Up Shakespeare, as part of CPHSTAGE in summer 2013, WIT at Bådteatret in 2014 and A TENDER THING at Bådteatret and Secrets at Halmlageret, Carlsberg in 2015. She was also in 2 Mini Why Not productions: “Remembrance” and “O,For the Love of Shakespeare”

Sue has her own voiceover company, World of Words, delivering professional voiceovers to companies all over the world.
